Handyman James
The terms below cover using this website, the text messages we send, and the basics of working with Handyman James. Each job also has its own written quote, and that quote governs the work itself.

Handyman James sends text messages relating to your own work with us: replies to your enquiry, quotes and estimates, appointment confirmations and arrival times, invoices and payment receipts, links to review and sign a contract, and secure links to add a card for payment. If you are on a seasonal or recurring service round — snow clearance, for instance — we may also text to offer that round's work and ask whether you would like it.
You opt in by giving us your mobile number and agreeing to be texted — on the form on our contact page, on the snow clearance registration form, or by asking us directly in person, by phone or by email. We only text numbers given to us for this purpose. We do not buy phone numbers, and we do not text people who have not asked to hear from us.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. If you would rather we used phone or email only, say so and we will.
Message frequency varies. Most people get a handful of messages around a single job. If you are on a seasonal round you may hear from us more often during that season, and rarely outside it.
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will get one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and then no further texts. You can still call or email us, and we will still reply — opting out of texts does not mean we stop working with you. To start again, reply START or just ask.
Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us on (508) 306-1552 or info@handyman-james.com.
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and we cannot guarantee that any given message arrives. If something matters and you have not heard from us, please call.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Our full Privacy Policy explains what we collect and who processes it on our behalf.
Prices given on this site are indicative. A quote for your specific job is given in writing after we understand the work, and that written quote is what governs the job. Where work turns out to involve something that could not be seen at the time of quoting, we will tell you before carrying on, not afterwards.
James holds an unrestricted Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (#120385) and is a registered Home Improvement Contractor (#197410). If a job falls outside what that covers, we will say so before starting rather than after.
Invoices are due as stated on the invoice. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Where a card is kept on file for a recurring round, it is stored with Stripe and charged only for work actually carried out.
Let us know as early as you reasonably can if you need to move or cancel a booked visit. For seasonal rounds, the terms of that round are set out in the contract you sign when you register.
We keep the information on this site accurate, but it is provided for general guidance and does not form part of any contract. The site is not advice on the condition of your particular property. Content, images and branding on this site belong to Handyman James.
These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Anything here that is not clear, ask — info@handyman-james.com or (508) 306-1552. It goes to James, not a call centre.
