“If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well.”

Who is Handyman James?

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, James was four years old when his father sat him down on the workbench and told him that if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well. It's stuck ever since.

Decades later, he's a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor (unrestricted, CSL #120385) and a registered Home Improvement Contractor (HIC #197410), fully insured, and experienced in maintaining both houses and boats. He works alone, on purpose — the person who quotes the job is the person who shows up and does it, every time.

He's built hundreds of client relationships across Newton, Lexington, Arlington, Waltham, Lincoln, Concord, Wellesley, Belmont, Cambridge, and Boston, some going back years, covering everything from a single loose blind to full property management.

If a job falls outside his license or skills, he'll say so upfront — before starting, not after.

“James goes above and beyond and keeps everyone in contact. I would recommend him to anyone.”

— Jay, Newton, MA
