Register nowSnow clearance runs on a fixed round, worked by one person with snowblowers. After a storm there are only so many hours before people need to get out of their driveways — which puts a hard limit on how many properties can be on the round and still be cleared properly.
That limit is the reason the register closes. Once the season starts, the properties on the list are the properties that get cleared; there's no adding a driveway mid-storm. Registering before 30 September is what secures a place for the winter.
